Calgary Breastfeeding Matters Group (CBMG) focuses on advocacy to the political arena, recognizing the importance of influencing systemic change to support breastfeeding initiatives. When appropriate we respond to concerns expressed by the community by writing letters to institutions, governments, or agencies to educate and promote the protection of breastfeeding. CBMG's political action committee monitors for violations of the international code of marketing of breastmilk substitutes. Provides links and information on the rights of breastfeeding parents. We advocate for the protection of breastfeeding, the Baby Friendly (delete) Initiative, and the rights of those breastfeeding their babies in Alberta to institutions, government, or agencies.
